Electrode Formation

The electrode formation is one of the main processes that SOFTPV uses to produce SOFTCELL® , a three-dimensional solar cell, by building electrodes on the bottom of silicon balls with the multilayers.

The process is as following:
  • Polish one side of the silicon ball with the multilayered silicon balls. The center of the polished surface becomes the anode, and the outside becomes the cathode.
  • Form the anode and the cathode by printing conductive pastes.For the electrodes to have ohmic contact properties, sophisticated thermal treatments must be applied.
